Domestic Worker Benefits
Domestic worker benefits generally include two weeks of vacation, paid federal holidays, and up to three paid sick days per year. The following information can help in planning benefits for both full-time and part-time employees.
Vacation
Full-time employees typically receive two weeks of vacation after one year of employment, although the employer may elect to offer it sooner. Both sides should provide at least one month’s notice of vacation.
Part-time employees usually receive one or two weeks of vacation, and are paid the equivalent of their regular shifts for those weeks.
Federal Holidays
There are eleven federal U.S. holidays. Below is a list of eight most popular ones. Domestic employees generally receive six to eight of these days off with pay. Many families match their domestic employee’s paid holidays to the holidays they receive from their employers.
Part-time workers receive paid time off for holidays that fall on their regular scheduled work days.

Memorial Day             		Last Monday in May
